Terms & Conditions

To organize a trip we need at least 4+ people.

As per Forest Department guidelines, plastic items are strictly prohibited on certain trips and treks. Participants are requested to refrain from carrying any plastic materials to ensure compliance.

Should any unforeseen issues arise during the trip, thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we work to find a solution or alternative arrangements.

Any requests for rescheduling the trip will be considered only if made at least 7 days before the trip's original start date.

Homestay food and stay will be as per the trip organizer's menu only — there is no provision for extra demands; anything extra needed will be charged separately.

The transport vehicle will be decided by the trip organizer only, as per group size.

The itinerary is subject to change based on unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, traffic delays, or other situational factors.

We'll confirm your exact pickup and drop-off times right before the trip. Please keep in mind these timings are tentative, as traffic or weather might cause slight delays.

Our facilities are neat and basic, not luxurious — kindly plan accordingly.

In case of cancellation from our end, refund will be initiated after the day of departure and will be credited within 5–10 working days.

Malnad Eco Trails shall not be responsible for any of your belongings, valuables, jewellery, etc.

You agree to indemnify yourself for the risks involved in the outings during travel, varying from destination to destination.

Due to permit issues, if any trip is not happening, we will provide an alternative trip, and in such situations you will need to co-operate with the management's decision.

Management's decision is final.

We have designated pick-up and drop points — please make your own arrangements to reach the desired pick-up point.

Malnad Eco Trails is not responsible if any injuries or accidents occur during the event.

Any client consuming alcohol, misbehaving, or causing delay during the trip will be removed from the event without prior warning and no refund will be given. Such clients must arrange their own transport back; Malnad Eco Trails holds no responsibility for terminated clients.

Littering, smoking & consumption of alcohol are banned outdoors or at any time during the trip. We will provide a designated time and place to enjoy your drinks.

In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled. In such cases we will try to provide an alternative; cancellation / refund for third-party activities is governed by their own policies.

Forest department entry and fees are as per current government rates. If any restriction is imposed by the department, we are not responsible but will try to find a better option — kindly cooperate in such cases.

Rights of admission reserved.

The tour package may include travel/transportation, accommodation (stay), sightseeing, food, local assistance, and visits to tourist places in and around Chikkamagaluru, as mentioned in the selected package itinerary. Services may vary based on package type.

Assumption of Risk

The traveller understands and voluntarily accepts that travel, trekking, hill stations, waterfalls, forests, wildlife areas, road travel, adventure activities, and outdoor tourism involve inherent risks including but not limited to:

• Accidents, falls, slips, injuries, disability, illness, drowning, snake/insect bites, wildlife or animal attacks, road accidents, or unforeseen incidents.
• Natural events such as heavy rain, landslides, floods, storms, fog, earthquakes, roadblocks, or other natural calamities.

The traveller voluntarily participates at their own risk and agrees to follow all safety instructions given by the company, driver, hotel staff, guides, forest authorities, or local administration.

Medical Fitness & Health Responsibility

The traveller confirms that they are medically fit for travel and must disclose any serious medical condition, allergy, medication dependency, pregnancy, disability, or health issue before booking.

The company shall not be held liable for:

• Personal illness, heart attack, medical emergency, food allergy, pre-existing disease, hospitalization, disability, or death due to medical conditions during the tour.
• Delay in medical treatment due to remote locations, weather conditions, or lack of immediate medical facilities.

The company shall not be responsible for criminal acts committed by unknown third parties, including but not limited to theft, robbery, cheating, assault, harassment, molestation, physical attack, or any criminal misconduct by strangers, outsiders, co-travellers, hotel guests, or unknown persons. Any such incident must immediately be reported to local police authorities; the company will provide reasonable cooperation for legal assistance where possible.

Hotel / Transport Liability

Hotels, homestays, transport operators, taxis, drivers, and third-party service providers operate independently. The company acts only as a travel organizer and shall not be liable for service failures, negligence, misconduct, delays, vehicle breakdown, or acts of third-party providers beyond reasonable control.

Itinerary Changes / Force Majeure

The company reserves the right to modify routes, hotels, places, or itinerary due to weather, road closure, government restrictions, forest rules, strikes, safety concerns, natural calamities, or other unavoidable circumstances.

Government Rules & Legal Compliance

All travellers must carry valid identity proof and follow all local, tourism, police, forest department, and Government of India / Karnataka regulations during the tour.

Indemnity Declaration

The traveller voluntarily participates in the tour understanding all associated risks and agrees not to hold Malnad Eco Trails, its owners, staff, drivers, guides, employees, agents, or affiliates liable for risks beyond reasonable control, subject to applicable Indian laws.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Due to permit issues, if any trip is not happening, we will provide an alternative trip and in such situations you will need to co-operate with the management's decision — management's decision is final.

In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled. In such cases we will try to provide an alternative; cancellation / refund for third-party activities (such as safaris and boat rides) is governed by their own policies.

Forest department entry and safari fees are as per current government rates and are non-refundable once paid, as these are collected and governed by the forest department.

Any client removed from the trip due to alcohol consumption, misbehaviour, or causing delays will not be eligible for any refund and must arrange their own return transport.
